Cast | Mark Lee, Peter Yu, Xenia Tan
In order to support his daughter to study abroad, Loke sells his old house and moves into a government flat. In this new community, he meets a group of friendly neighbours, including Tan, an organ player in a church. Loke is illiterate and asks Tan to help him write letters to his daughter in the United States, and the two gradually become good friends. Tan is deeply moved by Loke's selfless devotion to his daughter, which leads him to consider reconciling with his estranged daughter. Wonderland takes on the worthy themes of life and death, but its tone is never heavy-handed. By focusing on the heart-warming interactions between the characters, the film depicts a story about self-salvation and forgiveness.
